On July 15th we had the honor to shoot another stunning wedding in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. I wasn't looking forward to making the drive because we had just shot wedding video there about a month prior. The video turned out amazing but this time it was a photo shoot and we were excited to test out a few techniques after attending several photography workshops. Though we've been doing this for a while it never ceases to amaze how we learn new things every day. A few days before, the bride and I were exchanging text messages after looking at the tropical storm activity in the area. I could tell she was a bit nervous and really wanted her wedding to go on without any hiccups. On the day-of the weather report wasn't looking favorable for an outside wedding and I-10 was getting hammered with thunderstorms. With all odds against us we packed the jeep, swung the local Starbucks, and hit the highway. Ironically the rain was relatively light until we got to Pensacola, where we were staying for the night. I remember stepping outside and watching the rain and wind whip my poor Jeep in the driveway. It was pretty much the same on the morning of as we drove towards Ft. Walton. Then... all of a sudden the blue skies started to peek through as we moved East. It was like the rain knew we had a wedding to shoot! We arrived at the resort and it was absolutely perfect outside even though my silly cell phone showed rain. Who predicts cell phone weather anyways? Well, to make a long story short, the weather was absolutely perfect during the ceremony. The rain didn't come until late that night, which didn't matter because the reception was indoors. As for the photos... I can't wait to post them. Our newlyweds are on their honeymoon right now but I've got some great photos to give them once they return. I'll post a few teasers in the meantime...
